You mean those weird ones where you see like the inside of the uterus? Yeah...kinda gross....though regular sonograms can be creepy too, when the baby's face looks like a skeleton.

you mean 3d pics, in utero
I had them taken with my 1st dd and I love them, you can totally see her features and it is not alien-ish at all
BUT, I have seen some that are pretty freaky

I guess I'm not even sure what kind they are... because some I see look like babies but some just look.... i don't know, i guess like you said, like aliens!

the 3D ones creep me out. If you are talking about the standard black and white ones....depends on the shot. I have on of DS in utero and its straight on at his face and you could just see his eye sockets and his nasal cavity and it was scary and creeped me out! The later terms ones I think are adorable and in fact I have one framed sitting right in front of me.

Wow. Posting on this board feels weird...
They freak me out too.
My sister showed a sonogram photo to her little son & DH. They talked about it as a photo of your sister. Completely terrified the kid out because when they went to introduce him to the new baby, he thought she was going to be a skeleton. He would say "This is my new sister. Look she has skin!"

I know what you mean, I saw it as an avatar the first time and just stopped to stare at it with my mouth open. It was definitely weird to look at. Then the geek took over and I thought - wow - that technology is amazing!

You think the PICTURES are wierd? OMG, you have to see it "live" they turn this little dial that I guess takes away the layers of STUFF floating around. . . but if they turn it just a bit too far - its like looking at skeletor! I close my eyes until I hear them stop turning the dial so at least it looks somewhat baby-like to me.
I feel bad b/c my mom wants to come to a sonogram if I have more, but I KNOW that will freak her out!

The only sonogram pics I like are the ones of my kids' feet. I think those are so cute.

3D sonos freak me out big time -- I dunno why...they just seem like alien babies or something.
I think the only 3D sono that didn't freak me out was the one colette posted where he DS was pretty much laughing in-utero. That was cute.
But the others seem like something out of a sci-fi movie.

The 3D ones totally freak me out! After seeing my sisters, where my niece looked like a melting alien I decided not to have them with DS
I don't find the regular ones freaky, but I still have a really hard time figuring out what is what and totally had to trust the sonogram tech when she said "oh there is Baby's foot!"
To me it was  "Ok, if you say so..."

I never had a 3d or a 4d sonogram, but a few times they had to get a closer look during a regular sono and it just really creeped me out.
