constipated when they are transitioned on to whole milk? my daughter the last two times has had trouble. wanted to know if this is common. TIA

I think it is, dd had trouble for the first month or so.
It is just now getting better, I guess her little body is gettingused to it.

I would say any dietary change, including milk, could cause constipation. If that's the only change you made, I would say that milk is the culprit. Once her body adjusts it should be fine.

yes, I would think so. If my DS drinks a lot of milk, he won't go every day and he has a hard time going now that he is potty training.

I would think it would be happening b/c of the decrease in BM b/c BM is a natural laxative and she's been on it for a year so it's the first time she "going" without the benefit of it or with less of it anyway if you're weaning her slowly.

DD has been on whole milk for about 3 weeks and there is a definite difference. She'll actually go into the corner of our living room and "work" on her BMs. Grunting and all...
I've just been trying to get more fluids in her to help.

Hi, I went through the same with my DD. You can speak to your ped, but mine suggested going down to 2%, and than even 1% if needed. Good Luck

Yeah definate difference and I have only been doing 1 ounce of milk in every bottle because she seemed very cranky on it so I slowed down a bit..

thanks my dh was making me feel guilty telling olivia look mommy gives you too much home milk! and he said she is putting on weight. she looks the same to me.

he thinks he knows what hes talking about and he whips things out of thin air that make no sense. why would i do something to harm olivia or make her cry? yeah got to get him one of those bras from meek the fokers!

I would hold off on moving her over for a bit longer if she is having any issues. Then I would do 1oz of whole milk to the 6-7oz of formula. See what happens and very gradually add more milk and monitor the situation.

michelle shes already been transistioned. she started out with 1/4 milk 3/4 bm, 1/2 bm 1/2 whole milk, then 3/4 whole milk 1/4 bm. and now she is officially on whole milk she has never had any allergies its just she seems backed up.
