Is it just me, or does anyone else HATE rebates?!
if you want to give me a lower price, just give it to me up front! I HATE sending away for these things!

i don't hate them, but half the time, i can't be bothered with the paperwork. i agree, lower the price, whats the difference??

I was just saying this to DH last week, just make it a sale already
The only ones I don't mind are Costco, b/c you can fill it out online and I have never had a problem getting the checks in a couple of weeks.

these used to be a drug store that would have hig prices but tons of rebates
id never shop there
nope if there is a rebate i will find another store to see it cheaper

pay $900 now, but then mail away for a $100 rebate, then a $150 rebate and then a $50 rebate. OMG! whoever invented rebates needs to be hurt!

Because people will buy it thinking they will send the rebate in and then don't. I know I have. It took Sirius like 2 years to send me rebate after arguing w/ them.

omg do i hate them! keith would drive me crazy with them! but that is what all the company's hope for! that you don't do them! i saw a news thing a few months ago about this.

ITA!! I have an entire FOLDER of rebate paperwork from getting our computer and printer last year, between copies of the rebates slips, receipts, and bar codes from the boxes.
I'm neurotic with rebates though, and mark down on my calendar to "follow up" if i don't receive anything within the 8 - 10 weeks. Dorky, but i want my $$$ back :)

good for you!  I try to do the same thing. especially if it's a rebate for $50 or more.

I just started getting diligent about them -- for while I sent them in half the time but then I got tired of just letting money fly out the window like that.
Some of them I don't mind when there are different companies involved. For instance, we are getting a rebate from Amazon for the T-Mobile sidekick II we bought.
But the rebate from dell.com that you have to send to dell when the only place you can buy dells are from dell. Come on - just mark the item down would ya?

Amen, sista. I hate those stupid things. I still send them in because I feel like they do it so people won't get the money back. I feel like I'm stickin' it to the man when I take advantage of the rebates I'm a real badass, aren't I?

I hate when they expire!! DH bought Sirius in April and it had a rebate for a $20 gas card...he let it expire and told me in May!!
I just deposited a $60 one from Sears, lost an actual check for $25 from Staples  , have a $100 from BellSouth coming in any day now and sent in for my Dyson free car cleaning kit.
I hate them too...but I love getting stuff or $$ back!!
