Is it me or does anyone else find Burt and Ernie's relationship confusing??
Seriously...
I find some things on Sesame St very odd.
Maybe I have a warped mind. Maybe it's just me.
But I was just listening to Ernie sing "In my room I go Boom Boom Boom." He was referring to playing the drums....supposedly.
Another song he sings is "When Burt's not here". Sings about how lonely he is etc.
Then they have the rubber duck song, where all the friends are in the bathtub with him. Add in the fact that he and Burt sleep in the same room....
So riddle me this? What kind of relationship do they supposedly have with each other? Friends? Brothers? Cousins? Why do they sleep in the same room if they are not brothers?
Oh I am analyzing this show wayyy too much but it always strikes me.
Can I also say that Mr. Noodle is extremely creepy and reminds me of someone who preys on children.

B/c this drives me completely insane but I have to laugh at the same time.
Burt and Ernie are Best Friends - an innocent kid doesn't need any other explantaion for it -
Only us as cynnical, perverted adults would think of Ernie going 'boom boom boom' as  
Ernie misses Bert when he's gone b/c Bert is his BFF and he's lonely w/o his friend ..........
I HATE when people make more out of this stuff than it is (not saying YOU - just in general) it's a kid's show, it's innocent for a kid, and honestly, kind of entertaining for an adult too - If you watch old episodes of the Muppet Show - I think it was more of an adult content show - w/ puppets .........
As a kid I didn't know what the hell was going on, I just knew I watched it w/ my Dad and he thought it was hilarious and I liked the Muppets ..........

I know it's me. But it makes me go when I hear some things. I know children are innocent. I am not therefore this thread.

my parents thought they were cute but i remember my mom sitting down and saying to me "now you see that burt and ernie take baths together, sleep together i just want to tell you it is okay to do that but to understand that you shouldn't touch each other's special places" that sentence always ran through me over and over again and i still do not know why my mom had to tell me that because it made me think something was wrong. Me as a child didn't' see it as odd because i had taken baths with my mom or young cousin.
as far as dh he wasn't allowed to watch mr. rogers but it was okay for him to watch any other tv program. His mom thought children's program for the most part influenced you to become a "homo" in her eyes. some people are wacky!

Really? That never ever occured to me. In fact, I never ever thought about their race period. But African American, I would not think that!

Yes, I think they were but who knows?
Another episode, I forgot to mention, Burt is telling Ernie how special he is, how no one else is like him, no one else has his ears, his hair, etc. It just made me .

I love Ernie and Bert!!!
I don't care the nature of their relationship. they love each other and always try to work through their differences no matter what.
Anyone who has seen the Christmas special where they have this beautiful O'Henry story with their presents for each other should get tears in their eyes over that type of love. All children should have someone like that in their lives.

Ernie and Bert are gay , I've thought that since I was younger. today I was in the bathroom and DS was watching as the boom boom song came on. I had to come out and be sure I was hearing what I was hearing. I thought to myself, these writers have an interesting sense of humor

That's what I thought. Am I hearing correctly?
The writers def have an interesting sense of humor. I mean, in his room he goes boom boom boom? Why can't he be in another room of the house? Why his bedroom? Where Burt is trying to read?
