DS has always been a good sleeper (with a few exceptions). He pretty much has a similar schedule - 1 morning nap, 1 afternoon nap, goes to bed around 7:30, wakes up at 2-3am for milk.

At 10.5months, his sleep schedule is all out of whack. He doesn't want to nap ever. He wakes up in the middle of the night and wants to play. I don't know what is going on.

Is this normal? Is this teething related?

I know a lot of kids drop down to 1 nap at around 1.

I think it's normal. My DD just turned 1 and I am seeing signs that she's ready for 1 nap-- she's really fighting her morning nap, and if her morning nap turns out to be long she then fights the afternoon one. I feel like I'm forcing the issue of 2 naps.

I remember my son did exactly the same thing around that age.

That is exactly what DS is doing.

He fights his morning nap and will take a super long afternoon nap OR he will take a long morning nap late and skip the afternoon.

Sometimes he will go down for an afternoon nap and not wake up at all until the next morning.

Yep-my kids dropped the afternoon nap around 11 months. They wouldn't asleep-would cry etc. I just succeeded in moving their morning nap later so now they :

wake-get milk
breakfast
play
lunch
nap
milk
play
snack
dinner
bath
milk
bed

I think you can cut out the nighttinme feeding

The only time DS wakes up in the middle of the night, and wants to stay up and play is when he's teething. Otherwise, he sleep straight thru.

He hasn't been fighting his morning and afternoon naps, but they have gotten shorter, and he goes for longer periods of wakefulness between naps.

DS just turned one last week.
