Is it normal for an infant to play with his/her hair?
My son is 11 months old and plays with his hair all the time - runs his fingers through it, pats, it pulls it, etc. He does it when he is falling asleep, eating, and playing. It is starting to worry me!

Lily is 4 months and likes to play with her hair mostly when she's eating. I think it's pretty normal.

Re: Is it normal for an infant to play with his/her hair?
My DD went through a phase a few months ago when she played with her hair exactly like some other family members did.
My MIL said my SIL did the same when she was a baby.
It's probably just a way he soothes himself.

Paige does this sometimese and she mostly pulls it. It makes me crazy. I looks like it hurts. I guess its somewhat normal.

Alex does this too - eating or tired or when she is cranky. She came out of me pulling on her hair and hasn't stopped since!! I'm not worried about it.....so I think it is normal...

Jules was a baldy until about 18 months, but now she does at 2 whenever she is tired of drinking her "warm mook"...

Re: Is it normal for an infant to play with his/her hair?
My older son used to curl the top part of his hair around his finger to put himself to sleep. He gave himself a BALD PATCH from doing it so much! He stopped doing it when he was almost 4 years old!

John has been doing it for awhile now. He pulls so hard, he looks like his hair will fall out.
