Is it normal for cervix to be closed at 36 weeks?

Just wondering. I'm 37 wks on Thurs.

yes. i would expect it to be unless you begin to dialte early.

Yes, I think it is. Most people start to dialate at 38-40 weeks from what I've heard.

OR you can be completely abnormal and be nearly 41 weeks with a closed cervix like me!!! Chat Icon

aw! i think i expected some progress because i'm feeling uncomfy and lots of pressure....but hello, i guess this is just what THIS point of pregnancy feels like!

My understanding is that even if you were dialated or effaced at this point, it wouldn't mean anything because you could "go backwards" still. So I wouldn't read into it too much!

I don't even have my first internal until the day before I'm 38 weeks! My doctor just doesn't find them very important or reliable...
