Is it normal for toddlers to keep repeating something?
For example (Im making up this conversation) my daughter will say: DD - my cup is pink me - yes, that's your cup DD - its not yours, its mine me - yes DD - pink cup is mine not daddys....this is not your cup daddy, its DD's cup me - I know honey DD - my cup is pink not yours me - ok DD - daddys cup is blue, DDs cup is pink. that's my cup. me - yes it is DD - you can't use it, its DDs cup. me - ok, I understand DD - my cup is pink....
and it repeats

I don't know if it's "normal" but my DD sounds just like this. It's slightly maddening! My idea is that they're thinking aloud and want reassurance that they are correct.

I think so. My kids are super repetitive with the stuff they talk about.

I work as a behavior analyst for kids with autism... don't worry totally normal. If you change the topic and screams or gets upset or she becomes so obsessed and that's the ONLY thing she talks about, I would be concerned but if she has random conversations like this, it's no concern and developmentally normal

Sounds like dd. For us, it helps if I repeat back what she says so she knows I'm with her lol. My older one was the same way as a toddler. She would repeat something until I said it back to her.

Oh god yes. I got her a purple Easter basket, her unborn sister a pink Easter basket. I heard non stop last week about hers being the purple one and her baby sister's is the pink one.

Both of mine did this. I find if you repeat back to them what they said, then they KNOW you understand. I think that want reassurance that you get it. So Id say something like, "yes, the pink cup is DDs"
