If she's able to lift her head, she should be ok...but with the back to sleep program, I think many will disagree. For us, DS would NOT sleep on his back. I had him swaddled, on the incline and on his side, and that only lasted so long. As soon as he started breaking free, he would hardly sleep 4 hours. By 8 weeks, he was sleeping on his stomach and sleeping 7-8 hours a night.

I let Livi sleep on her stomach at 2 mos. when took naps, b/c they told me she was reflux- and I was afraid she would choke if she spit-up and swollowed it. By 4mos she was sleeping on her stomach at night too. Everyone will give you different advice. As long as she if rolling over I do not think there is anything to worry about.Chat Icon

Both my boys are 4 months and sleep on their stomachs...they sleep much better and longer when they do.

DD has been sleeping on her belly since 4 weeks old. She would not sleep good on her back, or swaddled.

ABSOLUTELY! It's especially ok if she can pick her head up when on her stomach.

I was worried too when DD started rolling over in her sleep, but she'd sleep longer and better, so I let it go!

Bella started this around the same time. She's fine. I lost a lot of sleep though! Chat Icon

once she can roll over and pick her head up she's fine. I think every mother is the same way. I checked every 5 minutes and my DH thought I should have been institutionalized!

DD is 4 months, but hasn't rolled over yet. She has been sleeping on her belly since about 8 weeks. She doesn't sleep well on her back and will sleep the whole night on her belly.
