My doctor said no because you don't want your body to overheat or get too hot.

I personally would not. Electric blankets are linked to increased risks for Leukemia. So a pad might expose you and baby to an electro magnetic field. I have one that I bought in the mall from one of the booths in the center of the isle. Its filled with natural things and aromatherapy. I microwave it and boy does it warm up and keep the heat. Also has velcroe to hold it on me so I can even walk around.

Wanted to clarify.. when I think of a heating pad I use the one that goes in the microwave (heats up for 2 minutes and lasts for 20 minutes). which is perfectly fine and does not cause you to over heat. An electric pad is ok on a low setting for a short time as well (according to my doc.) but all dr.'s are different, just ask yours.
