Is it possible to have lines/cables moved out of yard?

I have a decent size yard....and in the back left corner, there is a HUGE line that is an EYE sore as well as something that will cause probs as my DC gets older and plays in yard and something in the way of a possible shed Im placing there.

I border a park.....so Im thinking this is why there are lines in my yard.

Who should I call?

You can call LIPA but I believe there is a fee to have them moved. Our neighbor looked into it & the cost was just not worth it...

I had LIPA move a power line that literally crossed the middle of my backyard. It was a ridiculous run that shouldn't have been done that way.

I had to have them move it because I bought a hot tub and since the hot tub is in the middle of my backyard, the power line literally ran right above it.

I contacted their "design team" and even though it took a few months, they eventually moved the line so it ran parallel right along my property line I share with my next door neighbor (about 2-3 feet on my side of the property line).

Much better. They actually tried to charge me $400 bucks for this, but I told them no ***** way. The initial letter they sent me after doing their survey said "there would be no charge since this change improves the overall design of the LIPA network". I pointed that little clause out to the manager on the design team and she reluctantly waived the cost. Chat Icon

So if you can show them that the existing line is not done right, they can waive it.
