Is it really bad in Queens?

Ok, now, I'm not complaining - just trying to figure out the logic. School was cancelled for today where I work, even though we have had to go in for the ice storm and haven't had a snow day or delayed opening all year....yet, nothing else around here seems to be closed?

Roads looked wet on my block, but nothing bad. Maybe they don't want to worry about having to get the kids home later when the roads may be worse. Chat Icon

St. John's University! That's why its a shocker - all the schools for children are open, and the college is closed.

I left about the time you posted this - it wasn't bad at all. I didn't take the parkway to work, but didn't see any accidents on my way in.
