is it stupid to call my doctor about
constipatin? i can't take it anymore.. i've tried everything other than medicines.... nothing is helping.... i'm in agony!! but i dont want to be annoying by calling after hours when it's not an emergency?

drink coffee i kno ur pregnant but it shoudl work to get rid of the constipation,and while u drink the coffee move around dont sit still..

Its never stupid to call your doctor---I called mine 3 times last week!! (ok, so maybe I'm driving her crazy, but at least my questions are answered!!!!)

u could try an enima...that usually works, not sure if u can use those when ur preggo tho, and make sure u have a magazine to read--u will be in there for awhile lol :)

My Dr. allows Senekot- a vegetable laxative- he lets me take it three times a week- relief in 24 hours- take it with colace- you will feel better tomorrow!

In the beginning I was taking colace on a regualr basis and it was annoying to me - but then my doctor changed my pre-natal vitamins and I have been going on a regular basis ever since...maybe you can change your pre-natal vitamins and that will help?!

I have had the same problem, I usually take 2 stool softners with a hot cup of tea and no later then an hour can go with no problem. Thd doctor said that it was ok to take.

Try eating high fiber foods (not fiber supplements though, b/c they can add gas to the constipation).
and never feel badly about calling the Dr.

I was on the prenatal that that citrical in it and i was never constipated. I went everyday like clockwork.

I was on the prenatal that had Citrical in it and I went a on regular basis and never suffered from constipation.

I have the contipation from the zofran it's so painful I know my dr told me to tak milk of manisisa philips you get it at CVS and boy does it work

my doctor didnt rec colace he rec metamucil, but eat a ton of fiber- you will be fine, I never needed to take anything to help me go, even after taking iron pills. Fiber one cereal is a great way to go. good luck I know how it feels, when I started taking the iron pills ugh I couldnt go and then finally my body adjusted and went back to normal.

Have you been watching what your eating? I drink alot of apple juice and eat a lot of fruit. Sometimes greasy foods helps it along too. LOL.
