Is it weird to feel this way?

One of my super close friends is in the *trying* phase of TTC...like, they're being a little less careful, but she's not fullblown temping and all that stuff.

I am beyond excited for her. We talk about it and she may be testing tonight or tomorrow and I am just bursting at the seams with excitement for her. She's an amazing person and would be an amazing mom.

Yet, I never get excited at the prospect for myself I am a couple yeasr younger than her and stuff, but I'm just not in a place to think about those things, if ever, and I feel a little sad/fearful if I never do.

Is this normal?

Totally normal. I have been COMPLETELY excited for my SILs when they found out they were pg. I am DYING for a friend of mine to tell me she' expecting b/c I know she's trying!

I am so happy for people who have children. I get REALLY excited and happy for them.

I don't th ink you have to want your own children to feel happy and excited for others having them. I know how much it means to them and that makes me happy.

My parents got excited when we bought our last horse. They were THRILLED for us and even came out to visit him... but they don't ever have any desire to have their own.

Nope. I felt the same when my BFF and her DH ttc'ed. I was crazy excited- they are two of my favorite people, and seeing them fulfill their dream of having a baby made me really happy.

Their son was born 11-5, my wedding anniversary.

I think it's great that you are excited for her.

I was beyond excited when I found out my sister was pg - I even found out on my birhtday last year. I love my nephew more then words could ever express.

And I am just as happy not having my own.

Add me to the list. Family, friends, I wanted to hear all about it and was very excited about it!!

I even get misty when I see babies being born in movies and stuff. It's amazing and wonderful, and my personal decisions have nothing to do with my appreciation of that.

Along the same lines, I watched a friend's 6-month old at the barn the other day while she rode. My trainer said to me, "After babysitting, are you sure you're not going to change your mind?" I was

Then I had to tell him that I had 5 nieces and nephews and my cousins have 5 kids between them! It's not like I had never held a baby before.

Your kinds words really helped me feel better. I love kids, I love my niece and nephews and friends kids, but I'm not sure yet if they're for me. But its nice to know its normal to feel this way when people around get preggo and have kids

i am very excited for my friends who are pregnant or trying, and have the slightest bit of baby fever in the "one day, just not now" way but now is NOT the right time for us.

I totally understand that feeling!!! However, its usually the person who's pregnant that makes me (like my SIL who I sorta don't get along with, my friend who had a baby in an abusive relationship).

Sometimes I'll feel a bit sad because I would have had thoughts that we lost someone from our 'team'.

There was a girl at work who I never spoke to her about it, but I had a feeling she was CF/CL. When it was announced that she was pregnant, I was kind of about it.
