is it worth driving out to the stride rite outlet?
OK Alyssa is definately walking 90% of the time so its time for her first good pair of shoes...we are going to get her a stride rite pair. But, Id like to find them for as cheap as possible. Someone mentioned the Riverhead outlet - - are they THAT much cheaper out there or is it not really worth it? (its a good drive for me)........Ill just go o the mall unless I can save a good amount of $$
experiences?

I suggest going to a store and get her sized. Pick out the shoe that you like and then go home and but it on Shoebuy.com with some internet coupons and free shipping.

I was there last week and wasn't impressed with the selection. I'll just use shoebuy for a better selection and similar prices.
eta: prices were ~$30 for the shoes I was looking at.

You can check Marshall's - they had quite a few Stride Rite shoes when I was there last week (I was in the Melville one and the one in West Babylon). Prices were $15 - $20. Not a huge selection but you might find something you like.

I agree, shop online if you can. The outlet is hit or miss and they don't even really have that many striderite shoes, if you ask me. They have tons of other brands, too, though, so you could probably find something if you weren't specifically looking for striderites.

Just wanted to say that the Stride Rite outlet is also a Keds outlet and some other kind of outlet, so it's not solely Stride Rite.
