Is my mother kidding me?!?!?!?!!
My mom and Aunt are throwing my cousin a baby shower ( Mind you this is her 3rd baby and when I was pregnant my mom didn't even throw me a baby shower!! Finally someone guilted her into having something small at her house less then a week before I was due!)
I have done EVERYTHING for the shower, and my mom called me this weekend to tell me the date needs to be changed ( mind you I already ordered things with the original date on them)
I just got off the phone with her now and told her I had to work the entire day on the date they want to change the shower to.
Do you know what my mothers responce to that was????
Oh well do you think you can go late friday night to set up still?  
Is she kidding me?!?!?!!? The ONE day that month I have to work!!! Instead of saying ok lets pick another date, that is what she asks me???
When I work its 10 hour + days and I need a good night's sleep... not to be setting up a baby shower I am not even attending!!

umm that is BS. Who is the new date better for? Your cousin? Changing the date is okay if there is a legit reason to do so, but your mother's attitude would make me definitely fight with her.

Yeah shes coming in from another state for the shower and she is closing on her house the weekend it was supposed to be. I am not upset about the date change just how my mom handled it

You do have every reason to be upset but there is this Dear Abby or Ann Landers saying that keeps ringing in my head - "No one can take advantage of you unless you let them." (sorry!)
Don't feel guilty about this and stop killing yourself on this shower. Tell her she's going to have to do it.
