Is my newborn (2 1/2 weeks old) sleeping too much?

Don't get me wrong I am glad he's sleeping, but it seems as though that's all he's doing.

He is eating every 3 1/2 -4 hrs (4oz) and then he passes out. I actually have had to wake him on occassion to eat. But this is mostly during the day.

At the night time ("bedtime") feeding he doesn't fall asleep as easily.

Is this okay? Should I try harder to keep him awake during the day? Or just let him sleep?

TIA!!

I think it's fine, they need a ton of sleep at that age... let him be.

The dr. told me they sleep between 16-20 hrs when they are newborns. DS slept that long when he was that age.
