Is "not stopping pregnancy" the same as TTC?

I have a few friends who are not stopping pregnancy. Isn't that the same thing as TTC?

I am not TTC yet. If I was "not stopping pregnancy", I would consider that TTC.

I would think so tooo maybe they don't want to "officially" say they are TTCing to take the pressure off...

We took that attitude the 1st month TTC. I had taken OPKs in the prior months to see how my cycles were and the month I got pg we decided to just BD for fun and whatever happens, happens....well lo and behold we got pg the 1st month.

I myself have "not been stopping pregnancy" for 11 months now BUT I have not been TTC.

For me, it's a little different. I had to come off BC last October (due to Neuro problems). Since then, we have not been TTC but we've been very cautious not to get pregnant. If we did get pregnant then it wouldn't be a big deal but we also weren't TTC. We want to wait until our wedding in Apr to TTC.

Does that make sense to you? So we're not TTC but we also weren't stopping ourselves from getting pregnant (we were being extremely careful).

I feel like they are different. I think that TTC involves more of a conscious effort to get pregnant, while not stopping pregnancy would mean that you weren't basing BDing around ovulation time

My sister's line is something similar....

They are "NOT NOT trying to get pregnant."

I think that basically they are TTCing but are not charting etc.

I don't think it is the same thing because you are not actively trying to get pregant, but if it happens it happens.

When I think of TTC I think of doing things (sex every other day, temping, tracking you O date ect) because you are really tring to have a baby!!!!! You know, all of those crazy things we do for a little one. What happened to the good old days when people just used to "get pregant"!!!!!

I use the phrase not not trying to get pregnant. I honestly don't know right now at this point in my life if I can be bothered with the opks' and the temping and stuff. I signed up for fertility friend and it was overwhelming. We are just going to try for 6 months and see how it goes.
