Is peanut butter okay for dogs to eat?
I would like to give my 4 month old puppy a hollow raw hide bone with some peanut butter inside of it to help her with her teething problem. Is peanut butter okay for them??

yup. my dogs LOVE it. i will get a ham bone or something that is hollow in the middle and fill it with pb. they go crazy for it

Very safe and healthy for them (in moderation). Great to stuff into Kongs, etc. Pups and adult dogs do love it!

I used to feed it a lot, in his Kongs, but we did have a bad experience once when some got stuck on the way down. He could not even bark for a while, it was like laryngitis. We had to call the vet, who had me make sure that none was stuck in the roof of his mouth. I seriously think he may have had an allergy to it. I have not given it to my dog since, but if a dog has no history of problems with it, I would give it a try. They really love it!!!!!

That does sound like an allergy. Better safe than sorry! Poor doggie!

I use it when I have to give Tiger Medicine (such as pills), because he cant smell it.

Yes, Katie loves it. I give her the reduced fat because I eat it too! Although she would eat the whole jar I only give her a little bit for special treats.

My girls go crazy for it-as soon as they see me take it out of the cabinet, just make sure you give it in moderation.

Piper loves it. But, we use very little of it in his kong.
We had a hard time bathing him and now, we smudge peanut butter on the tub and he loves it and doesn't care if the water is running.

Kasey loves PB, she automatically sits and watches me with her tail anxiously wagging whenever I go into the cabinet where we keep it!!!!
As a treat sometimes we'll put it in her Kong, she goes nuts and sucks every bit out like it's a baby bottle!! It's also great when we need to give her a pill and we mix it into her food.

Dogs love it, but give it in moderation and watch their stools to make sure that it's not making their digestive system sick.
Our dog is less then 8 pounds, so we don't give a lot of it to her.

I only have natural in my house. its probably better for them.

Yes, it's good for them. Last month Rachael Ray did a show on Food Network just about pets and foods for them. She made a dog biscuit from peanut butter, oatmeal and some other things, I think the recipe is available on foodnetworks website.

My three year old can't eat it.. he had a conidtion called hemogastroentitis a ouple of years ago and since then I have to feed him special food and only give him organic treats.. hoever, my 5 month old can eat the peanut butter in a kong bone.

When you use it to fill something like the kong toys or even the apple (great idea, btw! never thought of that) you can also freeze it. It makes it last longer and is also good for teething pups. My vet recommended it to me when my dogs were puppies and they went nuts for it.
