Is switching to fat-free and sugar-free items good idea?
I heard someone people saying that fat-free and sugar-free items are not good for you. Is it better to moderate regular fat and regular sugar content items or switch to fat-free and sugar-free items?

I try to stay away from anything artificial "TRY"
I feel that many of the foods offered sugar free make me bloated and uncomfortable.

I cannot eat anything with artificial sweeteners in it because they do not agree with my stomach! Plus I had 2 fibroadenomas in my breast and the MD said to stay away from all artificial things and try to eat more natural stuff, no more splenda for me!...FF stuff or LF stuff is ok in my opinion as long it doesn't have added chemicals to make up for the missing fat...usually i try to eat LF dairy products and bread (but most of the breads contain sucralose or aspartame now which is very annoying and makes finding LF bread really hard!). Good luck with whatever you decide!

Fat Free--Not worth it especially if you end up eating more of it because it doesn't fill you up enough. Keeping with low fat instead of fat free is what a nutritionist told me.
Sugar Free---sometimes has sorbitol which makes people extremely gasey and again, you end up eating more.

I feel it really depends on what you're buying. I drink a lot of water but keep the crystal light singles at home and in my desk for when I want a change. I personally don't like the taste of sugar free dairy so I'll get fat free pudding and coffee creamers. I also prefer to buy low sugar items like ice cream, hot cocoa, etc. because the don't need to be super sweet and they taste just as good.
I do not like fat free cheese, sour cream or cream cheese. To me, they're gross and don't have the same taste so I get the lighter versions.
I only eat egg beaters or egg whites and not the whole egg.

I avoid all artificial sweeteners. The research out there is inconclusive, but I still don't trust them.
I would much rather eat a small amount of real sugar than eat something dreamed up in a labaratory.

I try not to eat any artificial additives, preservatives, etc. I eat full fat everything but in moderation. Personally I hate the taste of artificial sweeteners and I prefer not to put that stuff in my body if I have a choice.
