I heard a tornado touched down in melville and there are areas that are flooded

Belmont Park
Races have been canceled for the day. As a result, there is no LIRR service to Belmont Park today.

Port Washington and Ronkonkoma Branch Customers:
LIRR service remains suspended on the Port Washington Branch because of flooding and high water conditions. MTA NYC Transit is honoring LIRR tickets on the number 7 train.

Eastbound Ronkonkoma Branch service has been restored with delays of up to 2 hours. Westbound Ronkonkoma Branch service remains suspended, however we anticipate that service will be restored at around 1:15 PM.

Personnel are working on restoring service and we will continue to update you as the information becomes available.

Port Jefferson Branch Customers:
Eastbound service on the Port Jefferson Branch has been restored with delays of up to 3 hours.

Oyster Bay Branch Customers:
Train service is temporarily suspended on the Oyster Bay Branch. Bus service is being provided for Oyster Bay Branch customers between Mineola and Oyster Bay.

Hempstead Branch Customers
Service has been restored on the Hempstead Branch with 20-25 minute delays.

Huntington/Port Jefferson Branch Customers:
Service has been temporarily suspended in both directions from Hicksville to Huntington due to a pedestrian accident in Syosset.

Port Washington Branch Customers:
LIRR service remains suspended on the Port Washington Branch because of flooding and high water conditions. MTA NYC Transit is honoring LIRR tickets on the number 7 train.

Oyster Bay Branch Customers:
Train service is temporarily suspended on the Oyster Bay Branch. Bus service is being provided for Oyster Bay Branch customers between Mineola and Oyster Bay.

Ronkonkoma Branch Customers: Eastbound Ronkonkoma Branch service is operating with delays of up to 2 hours. Limited westbound Ronkonkoma Branch service has been restored.

Hempstead Branch Customers
Service has been restored on the Hempstead Branch with 10-15 minute delays.

Service on the Babylon, Long Beach, Far Rockaway, and West Hempstead branches is running normally.

Thanks for posting...maybe there is hope that I will get home without too much of a delay tonight. I hate how fragile the LIRR system is when there is rain...forget a major storm Chat Icon

the babylon line is fine.

I'm worried about the Ronkonkoma line and now the pedestrian accident in Syosset.

It's not looking too good for me yet - I'm on the Port Washington line. DH saw on the news that my station is almost completely flooded (almost up to the platform) earlier. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Chat Icon

Train service has been restored on the Oyster Bay Branch, with bus service between Locust Valley and Oyster Bay.

I didn;t think many people took the train from OB. I myself used to use Syosset.
