my friend just bought a nook color and can't figure out how to link it with his MAC.

I think that for library lending he's going to have to google what the work around it. You have to use Adobe Digital Editions, and Apple and Adobe had some kind of falling out and Adobe stopped supporting Apple products.
But there are instructions for work arounds. He could ask on nookboards or clubnook, those people are experts.

It is compatible, I have a mac and a nook. I had a lot of difficulty getting library books on my nook, is that what he's trying to do?
