is the storm bad anywhere out there?
'm on the east end and besides some hard rain haven't thought it has bee nbad at all, I was expecting it to be worse but maybe it is??

I think it was bad enough. Driving home from FIL's house today there was a LOT of flooding and big branches down. We were outside and near-outside for much of the day because DH threw me a b-day party and at times the rain and wind were very bad.
I don't think it really needed the 24-7 media coverage and people buying out the grocery store, but it was bad enough.
We are in L-town.

I'm in NC and even here we didnt really get hit all that bad. We got the worst of it last night and it was just heavy rain and some mild flooding on the roads. Totally over-rated.

Ummmm. How was the forecast wrong? Tropical storm winds were hit, and a few inches of rain fell. That's what the forecast was.

yes, it did rain but it wasn't that bad and the winds were no where near 40+ mph

People always blow small tropical storms like these out of proportion.
This storm's worst part also missed here compared to the rest of the tri-state area.

It was fairly windy and rainy earlier here in DC... but not too bad. I for one am glad it was weaker than anticipated... i'm home alone w/ the pup this weekend and our power goes out if there's a strong gust of wind.

We had pretty bad wind and bad rain. I am glad that it wasn't that bad. I would rather have a storm that was predicted worse than it was than have major damage to my house.

Well it was bad enough the gutters in my house and my mom's house couldn't handle the rain.. We both got roof leaks
But overall it was pretty overhyped...now Ike... that's a different story.

We really had nothing big over here....We took everything in just to be "safe" but looking back, the wind was no more then 30mph over here..
We were at my BILS by the water in Bellmore for the most of the storm & they even didn't have too much going on. Yes it was rainy but the wind was nothing like they predicted.

Some heavy rains but the wind was not bad at all. In fact I don't think it was windy at all. Maybe a little bit but nothing major. In fact there was a time when the rain stopped for a few minutes and I took my DS and we sat outside our front stoop for a few minutes to check out the weather.

The forecast was definitely wrong or the instructions that came along with were wrong. We didn't tie anything down in our backyard and nothing blew over. We didn't need flashlights or a 3 day supply of food. We have definitely had heavier rain in the past few months.

We had periods of heavy rain and then nothing. We almost cancelled plans. Thank goodness we didn't.
Was expecting a lot worse.
I do now have extra flashlights, extra batteries for the future.

Yup! I live in NJ, and we were out in the worst of it yesterday on our way to my husbands birthday dinner. Lots of flooding and the wind was pretty bad too. By the time we left the restaurant though, the rain had tapered off but the wind was still pretty bad.
