Is There a Catch? Foreign Currency Fee Litigation Settlement Fund
DH and I both got what look like postcards in the mail that have checks printed in them. I almost threw them out thinking they're junkmail. Did anyone else get one in the mail? Is there a catch to cashing the check?
URL on the check: http://www.ccfsettlement.com

Same here. Eighteen dollars or so?
I thought it had to do with our trip to Ireland. We had sent in our receipts so that we wouldn't be charged the country tax or something like that.

Look on the check closely.
First make sure it doesn't say anything like " by cashing this Che k you sign up for xyz".
According to the website it looks like if you had bank of America, traveled to a foreign country, and used your credit card you are getting a refund of some kind.
Call bank of America to confirm.
Looks legit.

I got one too. $18 and change. I do have a BOA card, so that makes sense. This sounds vaguely familiar from several years ago.

DH got one as well. We also went to Ireland (and England and Iceland).

It's legit. It's a settlement for a class action suit if you used your credit card in a foreign country during a certain period of time.
Cash your $18 and enjoy!

Re: Is There a Catch? Foreign Currency Fee Litigation Settlement Fund
Okay now it's slowly coming back to me! I remember debating whether or not to itemize all my receipts from overseas for so many years and got too lazy. I will gladly enjoy my $18. Thanks for jogging my memory!

Re: Is There a Catch? Foreign Currency Fee Litigation Settlement Fund
It's legit. DH and I used our HSBC cards in foreign countries and there was a class action lawsuit, but we filled out paperwork regarding it.

We got one too, however, we have never traveled to a foreign country. I thought it was a hoax and shredded it
