Is there a Kid Haircut place at Roosevelt Field?
I think I'm going to take Cameron todayt for her first haircut. The poor kid is almost 19 months old and has really straggly hair! TIA

Yes. Kid Kutz. I am going tomorrow. I called yesterday and they said no appt is needed.

Located on the first floor (below Nordstrom's) in the Roosevelt Field Mall, Professional Hair Designers presents Kids Kutz, a convenient, affordable alternative to higher end kids' salons. Each little customer has his or her choice of seating: a jeep, 3-wheeler, or Barbie car, while watching the Wiggles, Thomas the Tank Engine, or Dora the Explorer on video. Walk-ins are usually accommodated immediately. Haircuts are $12.

I used to bring my son there all the time. There is never a wait. It's very cute. Now he just goes to the $8 barber with my DH!

We've been there several times, but stopped going after 2 bad haircuts in a row. It's definitely hit or miss there with respect to who's doing the cutting. 
As an aside, I think it's $15 now.

Thanks everyone - it worked out fine for us. It wound up looking pretty much the same just a tad neater as her starggly ends are less apparent. the weird thinkg is that I was expecting a shampoo and blow dry but they just squirted a little water from a spray bottle and didn't have to blow dry. I probably could have done it myslef at home. BUt I got the little certificate and a lock of hair and its around the corner from my house so we'll definitely go back for trims.

At what age should you get their first haircut? Christopher will be 1 year old next month. Is that too young?

It totally depends on their hair.
Michael got his first haircut at 6 months. He was born with alot of hair so it got long and straggly by 6 months. At 8 months now he needs another one!
