is there a way to get out of a gym membership??
when i signed up, they said that the only way out was to move 25 miles away from the gym.
with my life still not settled, i don't go and i could use the money for other things. i still have 16 months left on the contract.
is there a way to get out of this?

if that doesn't work... try to sell the membership and at least get SOME of your $ back...

How is the gym going to actually prove that you are moving? Just tell them you are. They want an address? Well, you don't have one yet, you are renting a place when you get there.

I 'moved' to my mom's house in montauk!  I called my c/c co. and changed my address for 2 months, she mailed me the statement since bally's was charging that card, I faxed it to their corporate and a month or so later, I was out! For that, the nearest Bally's was like 60 miles away in Riverhead.

They usually want proof like a utility bill or something with your new address and name on it.
DH did, but I don't remember how, I will ask him
