Is there anone here who did not have a baby shower?

I didn't, DH wanted me to have one (and I think so did his family), but I didn't want to. We don't do baby showers where I come from and it was always such a strange thing to me to have one (no offense to anyone , PLEASE, I don't mean it in a bad way) I didn't even know what a baby shower was before I started babysitting few years ago and the kid's pregnant mom had a baby shower
Yesterday I was talking to a girl I know who is having a baby shower and she asked me a Q about it , I told her I didn't have one and she said "That's so weird that you didn't have one,isn't that rude though?"
Anyone else didn't have a baby shower? or am I the only "weirdo"

Nope... I didn't have one. I'm Jewish an typically we don't do baby showers. My husband really wanted me to have one, but we went through so much to get pregnant an had quite a few scares along the way during my pregnancy, that I was not comfortable having a shower. Also, not one baby item was brought into my house until she was born.

I didnt have one either. My family feels that it is bad luck to have a celebration like that before the baby is born(old Irish belief). Im actually glad I didnt have one because we still got all the things we needed from family members without having to have a house full of stuff that we might not even need right away....

Nope. I didnt have one either. A lot of regions in Italy including where my family is from dont believe in celebrating before the baby is here.

That didnt mean that I didnt get everything I wanted or needed as soon as I had the baby!

I didn't but 8 days after DS was bor we had his bris which was a huge party and people brought gifts then. Personally, I found it to be a PITA to have to set up for the baby after he was already here but as I had a difficult pgrenancy, it was for the best.

I didnt - but it wasnt my choice - my sister decided I wasnt into having one

I am not a huge shower person but I would have liked to have had lunch or something with some close friends - the whole present thing is mute to me as everyone bought stuff after the baby was born but considering its so hard to get out of the house now that I have DD it would have been nice to have had a lunch date with some friends.

I think she regretted it when I organised one for her 2 years later.
