is there any reason why a travel agent would put my 2YO as an adult on a ticket?
I just called the airline to check something and get help checking in online, they told me my DD is registered as an adult, even though a kid's meal was requested Virgin Atlantic agent was confused so told me to call the other airline BMI that issued a ticket (a connecting airline). I have to call BMI but they open at 8 am. What could be the reason for them /the TA to put her as an adult? Oh and they put her name wrong, I mean they put the first and last name and then they put "CNN" next to her first name The VA agent asked if that's her middle name
I really hope we don't have any issues , our flight is tonight

I hope so too, for your sake.
I think the name has to match the passport. Tell us what happens.

It shouldn't make a difference. My son is 2 and we had to book him an adult ticket. The airline told me it doesn't matter because the price is the same.

Yep. Same here. Our 2 year old is booked as an adult because he gets his own seat.

I'm just confused now, can't wait to speak to my TA. But it does make sense I guess, DD has her own seat, she is 2.5.

By law 2 and over are to be seated in their own seats so that is why they say adult seating. you will still get kid menus unless you specify otherwise. Under 2 a child can sit on your lap but after 2yr. old they are in their own seat and charged as an adult.

Ok I know that kids over 2 have to have their own seat, and DD does too,I just didn't know they were booked as adults, I had no idea Funny thing is that I spoke to 2 agents at 2 different airlines and they both made it sound like there was a mistake or something and I was being overcharged even though I explained the situation Ok well I guess I'm not going to stress over it any more Thanks everyone ! I spoke to the TA and resolved all the issues (I think and hope)

I have never heard of a child paying less for a ticket. As far as the airline is concerned, a seat is a seat, they don't give discounts. If someone knows of an airline that does, please fill me in!

DD's ticket was almost 250 less then mine , not sure if that's a child discount or what (not really a discount considering how tickets are )
