Is there anywhere to go apple picking on the island??
My FIL wants us to all go apple picking this weekend and swears someone told him there is a place to go out east. Is there?? If not does anyone knoe the closest place upsate or connecticuit to go picking. TIA!!!

Yes, Lewins Farms on Sound Ave. in Wading River. You can pick there until the end of this month.

Yes, Lewins Farms on Sound Ave. in Wading River. You can pick there until the end of this month.
there isn't more than 1 Lewins, is there? They told me last week that apple picking was over

I actually just found another, thanks to the realted topics, Fort Salonga farm and I know there are two others, one in Cutchogue and one in Water Mill/Bridgehampton.

I'm not sure. My sister lives near Sound Ave. and when we went to Lewins 2 weeks ago they were supposed to be open for apple picking till the end of October.

I'd call before you go. The place I went in Westchester said on their webste they have apples untill the 3rd week of October, but when we got there they had signs saying that they were pretty much out.
They had some to to sell in the shop & I saw one family come back with some fromteh orchard, but most people (like us) were there for pumpkins.

We went to Wickhams in Copaigue over Columbus Day weekend and it seemed like a lot of the apples were picked already. I am not sure how much would be left by now, but it was a nice drive.

There is a place I never went to but always drove by on Pulaski. I guess it is East Northport/Kings Park area. It's down by where The Little Shelter is. Not much help, if your interested I'm sure I could find out.
I also think there is an orchard on Jericho tpk. in Northport. Just west of Larkfield road. FM me and I can get details for you if you don't want to go all the way out east.
