Is this a bad excuse?

DH's surprise party is next Fri.

His mom turns 70 next year (their Bdays are only 4 days apart)

I've been telling him that we should meet with my cousin (a banquet manager) to go over pricing since we've hit the "one year mark".

So, we're going to meet my cousin this Fri at the hall. (it's a fake meeting- just a way to reel DH in)

My cousin is going to invite us back for a showcase on the following Friday (which is DH's actual birthday)

do you think DH will see right through this and know that we're really going back for a party for himChat Icon

he might....he is suspicious now at all?

how close is his actual bday?
maybe u can get all ready to go then be like oh we just have to go next week..my cousin is really busy..

to REALLY throw him off i would make soemone send an invitation for a party that is in a couple of weeks...

i did this to my mom, i made my aunt send a fake sweet 16 bday invite and my mom thought we were goin to the sweet 16 party..had NO CLUE even tho her bday was a couple of days b4 the party.
she really did almost pass out too Chat Icon

right now, he thinks we're having a "backyard party" the day after his Bday for a few people.

the real party is on the actual day of his birth

ets: it's in 10 days, so it's too late for fake invites. I didn't want to take that route because a BUNCH of people in our family recently did that and DH said to me "how could they NOT realize that was a fake invite"

Hmmm.... I just can't see him going back for a showcase. Even if he does fall for it, if he's anything like my DH, he'll be like "YOU go to that!" Especially since you guys got married there already... it's not like you need to do a tasting or anything.

I say make the first meeting to "go over pricing" be on his birthday!
