Is this a bad idea?
So, I am an attorney in house at a financial services company. I interviewed a few years ago at a place and the firm I was at (my current firm) matched my offer and I stayed. It was a really hard decision - I really liked the people and the job at the new firm, but decided not to take a risk and leave (the devil you know, blah, blah...).
Now I am looking for a new job (and would leave no matter what my current company offered), and was thinking of emailing the other place to see if they have any positions open.
Is that really tacky?
Thanks!

Assuming that you did not burn that bridge when you turned down the offer last time by doing something unprofessional etc.. I do not think it is at all tacky! I think its smart and a great place to start your search,. good luck!

I don't think so. Isn't that what networking is all about anyways? It didn't work out then, but maybe there's something open? I don't see any reason why they would think its tacky.

Thanks guys!
I didn't burn the bridge, but there was a lot of countering and I turned them down, so I just don't know if they are bitter about it. Guess I don't have much to lose!
