Is this a fair quote for carpet?
I got a quote from Montauk carpet for $3200 (which incl padding/install for the following:
1 remnant for a small BR Den - 16.5 x 16.5 Office - 10x13 5 steps (including stringers)
The carpet I chose was pricey and has a pattern in it.

Re: Is this a fair quote for carpet?
well if you choose an expensive carpet it will be expensive.
it just sounds expensive to me since I've paid less for that many rooms. The remnant should be around $300.

Sounds expensive - but if you've chosen something thats $41/yard then i guess its fair! Can you try and find that same make of carpet somewhere else for less?
We used a place called Carpet ESP on Old Country Road in Westbury and they worked with us on everything to get it in our budget. If you call and ask for Tony he'll work with you.
