When they 22 feet of cabinet do they mean the same for tile?
I am just wondering to get an idea of how much it costs to renovate a kitchen. I have got quotes for $8000 (plus materials) to $35000 (with materials).

Re: Is this a good deal for a kitchen
i would double check on the prices for the tile floor and backsplash- that sounds a bit pricey and it could add up. are you limited to certain types of tile? also what about the granite counters? do you chose the granite and what color, quality and thickness is it? that could also be a place they may upcharge or limit you... good luck with the reno. we just finished our kitchen (did most of the work ourselves and with help of contractor friend) and what a headache! lol

It was Tru Tek. I actually have a few people coming this week.
My kitchen is 325 feet of tile (includes hall and laundry room), about 35 feet of cabinets and 45 square feet of counter.
My main cost is the tile floor.

If it is an "advertized" package, be very careful. For some reason you will NEVER get that price.
I thought that was OZ to like Scott asked?
The problem with those packages is to know the quality you are getting. What kind of cabinets are you getting?

That is a good price but keep in mind that you may be limited to the product the contractor is supplying.
I spent more than that using an acquaintance for labor but I was able to go anywhere and pick any cabinet, granite, tile, appliance, etc. that I wanted and within my personal budget. If you are picky like me you may not like what the contractor has to offer.

Re: Is this a good deal for a kitchen
The last contractor who came has an account with Consumers (waiting to hear back from him) but am open to cabinet choices.
The contractor who a few people used on this board estimated labor at $8000 (we are not going with him though).
I really liked Alure but I do not want to spend that kind of money plus they only do so much (need a few door replaced). And Island Kitchens quoted me $55,0000.
Someone on here recommended Castle Concepts but they are unlicensed in Suffolk.

Re: Is this a good deal for a kitchen
I got my cabinets from consumers and got the kraftmaid brand. The price of cabinets can vary significantly depending on the type of wood and door style (full overlay, 1/2 overlay). Also, the little extras also add to the cost such as cabinets that reach the ceiling, crown molding, under cabinet molding, lazy susan, pull outs, glass, garbage can drawers, etc. Your estimate may go up if the contracter budgeted a specific amount for cabinets and you pick a $$ door style. I am using consumers again for another project and really like the kraftmaid cabinets.
