the convo i just over heard...
2 men standing in a deli...they recognize each other possibly from work..havent seen each other in a long time..
man #1...karl, is that you?
man #2..um yes...

OMG, ppl say this all the time to DH and I'm like, "he said that to you?" It seems this is normal guy conversation, that they can just comment on each other's bodies like that. I can't even imagine one of my friends saying that to me, I'd die of embarrassment!

My DH tells me about how the guys at his job comment on eachother's work and it's no big deal...
His weight has fluctuated a lot lately so they'll be like....
Hey Bill....packin on the pounds, eh?
Or...
Bill, you look like you're losing your pants....
and to him it's no big deal.
Yet he made a comment once about my weight to me after I had the baby and I wanted to strangle him!

I actually hear conversations like that at work sometimes and it is mostly the guys saying it to eachother, NEVER to the women. I guess they know it would get their eyes clawed out.

I showed a male coworker a picture of my DH and I on our honeymoon in our swimsuits - and this guy says, "I thought your husband was a thin guy?"... 
Granted, his t-shirt and swimsuit was really baggy so it looked like he had some weight on him. But I had just shown him my wedding pics, and you can clearly see that my DH is NOT fat in the least.
And another time, my brother in law's father saw me in our car dealership. After about 10 minutes of talking, he said he didn't recognize me at first... I put on a lot of weight huh?
He realized his error by my facial expression and tried to cover it. I found out later that he had had mental issues for a few years. He's gone now.
