DS seems to be doing well on the milk/formula mix but he's been having some serious blowouts! no diarrhea though... is it the milk or something else (like maybe the ice cream he had three days ina row  )?

That is normal i was told. My DD has the same problem. We change her diaper and sometimes that diaper will last 5 minutes or she will decide to poop while we are changing her diaper. The doc said it was normal.
