Is this true?
Is it true that anyone working at the school is not allowed to work for a family whose children are attending the school, even after hours?
Like, a teachers' assistant can not get paid for watching a child from the class where she is assisting after hours?

Re: Is this true?
that would be a school policy so you would have to check with your district.
i know my district has a policy that a teacher can not tutor a student for a fee that is in your class.

In NYC, this is the DOE's policy. I cannot tutor my students in my school, BUT I can tutor the students from the school around the corner!

Yep. They consider it a conflict of interest. On LI, every district has its own rules, but make sure you find out and are very clear on them. It could potentially be grounds for dismissal.

Mine too, but a teacher can tutor a kid in the district if it's not their student, so regarding the OP I'd say it's not like that everywhere.

Same here. As long as they're not my current student in my class, I can tutor. Otherwise, I could "fail" him and then get paid to "pass" him.... No bueno!
