Is this wierd?
So I interviewed for a job, and didn't get it. But I had discussed something with one of the partners about networking. I happen to know a bunch of networking groups that could help this firm.
Would it be wierd if I e-mailed him and just sent him the links to these groups? There really isn't any benefit for me. I am not hoping they will hire me because of it. But I think they are a good firm that does good work. Plus, you never know- you put good energy out there, it could come back to you (not this firm specifically).
So how would I address the fact that they didn't hire me. I thought about writing this:
"I was disappointed to learn that you decided to go in a different direction, but I wanted to let you know that our conversation has stayed with me. I think that the work that K&M does is important and I have compiled a few websites of networking organizations I am familiar with that K&M may benefit from.
I sincerely wish you luck in finding the ideal associate for K&M."
What do you think?

Re: Is this wierd?
First off, I think it's incredibly kind of you to do this.
Having said that, I think what you want to say is perfect.

Re: Is this wierd?
I am sorry to hear that you didn't get the job
Honestly, I would not send the email. I think the legal profession can be very difficult and having clients or any networking connections is essential if you want to make partner at a firm and even if you don't, it can set you apart from other associates.
Since you are unhappy at your job and looking to go elsewhere, these connections you have may really help at your next job. I would not be giving up these these connections to the competition.
I think you should use these connections in a way that is going to benefit YOU most and I don't really see the benefit of giving them to this partner.
