Is your pregnancy what you expected it to be?
My dream life:
I pictured myself being very chic, still in heels, wearing Pea In The Pod.
Glowing and loving to be out and about so people could coo over my belly.
My real life:
I can't get my sweats on fast enough, flats are a must, wearing Gap, Old Navy and Target and still breaking the bank.
Acne and dry skin all at once, circles under my eyes that could rival a racoon's and no desire to leave the house, ever!

I'm only at 7 weeks and I already hate my belts. You mean I won't be wearing my cheetah print miniskirt for much longer?

Re: Is your pregnancy what you expected it to be?
I actually look and feel a whole lot better than I expected to be. But then I expected to be 200 pounds at the end, with stringy hair and really bad acne so my expectations weren't so high.

So, it's good to aim low?!

Re: Is your pregnancy what you expected it to be?
I tell people I should have been doing this my whole life. I have felt fine, a little heartburn here and there but that's it. People tell me I am glowing - my skin is great, and no swelling so far. I have gained only 2 lbs - but I was quite overweight to begin with. So I don't mind "losing" my figure, now at least I have an excuse for it!
Honestly -- my pregnancy has so far (knocking on wood) been a piece of cake - just like it was for my sister and mother.
Oh and PS luvsun sent me all her preggo clothes - and she was quite a fashion plate, so I haven't even had to worry about that!!

Well la-tee-dah Ms. Glowing Pregnancy!!
Honestly, except for the scary bleeding and the pelvic rest, I feel fine - better than I thought I would.
I'm just not quite so "hip-mom-to-be" as I thought I would be!!

i call my pregnancy the Unpregnancy. i feel absolutely normal, i've gained a bunch of weight, but it looks as if its all in my belly. at 31 weeks i'm definitely not as big as i thought i would be or as big as other people this far along. so far so good!

Re: Is your pregnancy what you expected it to be?
I loved the beginning of my pregnancy...I was glowing, I felt BETTER THAN EVER in my life, I only gained 3 lbs in 4.5 months! I was doing GREAT! Then my back consistently started going out, my hips hurt constantly, I started getting sinus problems, the baby dislocated my rib and I started gaining weight much more rapidly (I am up to 16 lbs at 27 weeks--still not too bad!)
I wish the entire pregnancy could be like the first 4-5 months!!!

Re: Is your pregnancy what you expected it to be?
I expected to be glowing not from my very pale skin. I had a different image in mind plus I expected the weight to be mainly in my tummy - instead it distributed evenly and is only now started to go to my tummy. I really thought I would by-pass the the whole m/s thing but no luck and I thought the maternity clothes would look cute. Everyone says how much better the selection is but I don't always feel so good. I thought I would wear my heels the entire time but gave those up at week 14.
But - there are positive things too. I did expect my husband to spoil me and he does. I expected clear skin and it has been pretty good. I expected not to swell too much I haven't (so far) - still wearing my wedding rings.

Re: Is your pregnancy what you expected it to be?
I don't think anything would have prepared me for 1st hand experience.
People told me there were exhausted. Until I was PG in my 1st trimester, I did not realize what tired was. I could have slept on my desk without a question. I felt I was on benadryl 24/7.

Re: Is your pregnancy what you expected it to be?
So far so good. My skin could be better, but I didn't have the greatest before this. also, I have felt pretty good most of the time (knock on wood) and no swelling so far, still early, I think I have only really gained in my stomach, sure not in my butt since my pants keep falling, oh well.

I feel the same - about sweats, flats and comfy clothes. When I was PG (and...well still now with the baby...) it was all about comfort.
Things change huh? LOL

Re: Is your pregnancy what you expected it to be?
I thought I would really love being pregnant - and it's not that I don't like it - I just can't stand the way I feel most days.
In the beginning it was the heartburn and the nausea, then the vomiting, now that is over and done with my back has been killing me everyday to the point where I am almost in tears.
I don't mind gaining weight and it's pretty much gone only to my belly. I can still fit into my regular Seven Jeans with the bella band (I think that may be coming to an end soon though)
Oh and the no energy thing is a killer. I'll do one thing and then I'll need to lay down for an hour.
Ugh - I sound like such a complainer. Sorry! You asked

Re: Is your pregnancy what you expected it to be?
I think I'd really like it if I didn't have to commute to the city. It just kills me.
Last week when I had off I felt great, rested, a little more energy, less irriatable. This week back to work and I'm exhausted and achy.
I also thought (I have no idea why) that I'd be this skinny pregnant lady with all belly and hardly any weight gain, FANTASY LAND!!!
what can ya do?

Re: Is your pregnancy what you expected it to be?
I thought I was going to be a lot bigger (I was big to begin with). I thought I was going to be more "sick"..m/s, aches, etc. It hasn't been that bad. Ive enjoyed being pregnant.

Really, I work from home -- do you think I EVER wear heels????

Re: Is your pregnancy what you expected it to be?
I feel mostly pretty good, better than expected before I was pregnant. I was expecting nausea, fatigue and being much more emotional than I've been.
I don't care about how I look, which is unusual for me- I never used to wear jeans to work, or flat/sneakers, but that's what I wear almost every day. My commute is long and I'm on my feet for so much of the day, so I really want to be comfortable.
I imagined myself being a lot more sentimental than I've been, writing letters and/or keeping a journal for the baby, which I haven't done at all. I keep a blog that I write in a lot, but I haven't been overly focused on the pregnancy.

I actually still wear heels and cute maternity clothes - but they were all gifts - I can only afford Old Navy too!
I knew I'd be tired - and I was right
I never anticipated the morning sickness
I thought I'd relax more, but I was wrong about that as well....

Re: Is your pregnancy what you expected it to be?
No, its not what i expected it to be, but its okay. -I didnt expect to get high blood pressure and be on medication 3xs a day that makes me extremely tired. -I didnt expect to be going to one of my drs or to the lab at least once a week.
I DID expect to gain a million lbs, but so far I have only gained about 5, I am already at 30 weeks, i wasnt think by any means prior to getting pregnant, but I may have actually lost weight prior to my wedding.
Last but not least, I am used to tanning in the winters....I hate being pale, but I cant wait to hold my baby in my arms, I have been wanting a baby for such a long time
