Islip/East Islip Schools
Does any one know about these areas? My real estate agent just told me they were good school districts...
Any opinions

Re: Islip/East Islip Schools
I went to East Islip, I loved it. Since I graduated they don't let the kids leave the high school anymore, which I think is good... Over all I think the schools are good! I also went to Timber Point Elementary, which was a good Elem. school.

Re: Islip/East Islip Schools
I've heard great things about both Islip and East Islip...plus, if you're thinking of moving there...both areas are really nice

Re: Islip/East Islip Schools
DH went to Islip and really liked it. It doesn't show up with the best scores, but I love the area! I think in terms of scores/grad rates, etc. they probably fall about in the middle of the Suffolk school rankings, but I love the town of Islip and the fact that it really is a town around a Main Street.
Sayville is very close and is higher performing school-wise, if you care about that.

Re: Islip/East Islip Schools
I live in Islip and, while I don't have kids in the school, all the people I commute with who do are very happy with the schools.
Nov04libride: There are a few very nice well-priced houses for sale in my neighborhood A block south of main street and close to the bars, restaurants, shops and library

hey thanks! We actually looked at one on Monell not too long ago! It's a tough commute for me for work though, so I'm trying to convince DH to go closer to my work. Dh's parents are still in Islip though, so we're there all the time! And we always celebrate our anniversary at the Irish Coffee Pub!
