Isn't is common knowledge...

that you DO NOT and CANNOT know the gender of your baby when you're ONLY 10 weeks pregnant?

At least THREE people (one of them, woman) asked me if I knew what I was having when we told them that I was pg this weekend at a get together.

(I wanted to reply "uhh human, I hope!") Chat Icon

Re: Isn't is common knowledge...

Honestly, before I got pregnant and started doing a lot of reading, I had no idea when you could find out the sex of the baby.

So for me, it definitely was not common knowledge!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Isn't is common knowledge...

My answer to the question "what are you having" is "I'm having a baby" and if the person goes futher I tell them that the doctors have confirmed it is a human baby.

Re: Isn't is common knowledge...

I think things have changed so much over the last 10 years that people really don't know what you know when unless they have had a baby recently.

I was talking about some of the tests with my friends who have kids and those whose kids are 6 and older had no idea what some of them were.

Well, not at 10 weeks, but at 12 the sex is visable. But generally you can't see it yet Chat Icon

For some people it's not. Some people really don't know about babies and pregnancy stuff so they will ask.
