Isn't it way too early to schedule a c-section?
I'm nearly 33 weeks now and the baby is still breeched!
The OB's office just called and had me scheduled for a c-section for Dec. 12th. I'm due the 20th. Ugh!
What's the likelihood that my baby will turn in the next few weeks? I don't mind delivery early but am dreading the thought of having a surgery anyway!

Usualy they say they need to turn by 36 weeks.
My sisters baby was breach and turned on his own 39W 3 D!!! She said that was fun!
Were you considering doing a manual version? Did you Dr. mention it???

No, the doctor didn't even mention trying to turn the baby manually. I heard some doctors are reluctant to do so 'cus it may cause complications including having to give birth immediately...
I heard there's some way to turn the baby yourself like shining a light to direct baby down there or applying some cold ice pack at the baby's head to nudge it down...
I'm not ready to try that yet in case it harms the baby in anyway. :(

Re: Isn't it way too early to schedule a c-section?
It is easier to cancel a c-section than to schedule it late term Is it possible that it is scheduled "just in case?"

There are different positions you can try to try and get the baby to move... They are similar to yoga positions, some people try accupuncture and a bunch of other things.
Some Dr. to try versions some don't..... if its something you are interested in you can ask.

I would schedule it to the time of your liking so you have time to plan.
You can always go natural at any time. Nobody will force you to have a c-section if the baby turns and you change your mind.

I agree with this.
And I've heard that they usually give you to 36 weeks for the baby to move.
Why not schedule it and then cancel if the baby flips?

Re: Isn't it way too early to schedule a c-section?
my OB refused to even determine his position until 36 weeks, because they frequently shift around prior to that....

The website spinngingbabies.com has suggestions for how to shift baby into position.
