It finally hit me
for some reason i was snapping at dh last night. he couldn't understand why. he wouldn't let me go to sleep until we talked about it. there was a lot of talk about my grandmother yesterday. she passed away in november. i said how i almost called her yesterday. my dad was talking about the unveiling. my aunts when to a monument place. it just hit me that she's not here. i kept saying i didn't say goodbye or the last time i "saw" her was in the coffin and it wasn't a pretty site. he said i need to get it out. i hope that it gets better

I know it's hard, but it will get a little better
I am so sorry you are going through this. It's great that your DH realized that you had some feelings to get out and was supportive.

Re: It finally hit me
Thank goodness you have such a supportive DH. Maybe lean on him when you need to instead of snapping at him. I know it's ahrd and we tend to take things out on the ones we love.

Re: It finally hit me
It is very hard. My grandma is gone 3 years now & it still hits me. There are just little things that remind me that it is ok & I know she is with me all the time! But it is hard on certain days. Hang in there

Re: It finally hit me
I know how you feel - I lost my grandma on January 8th and its so hard - we were extremely close.
Its healthy for you to get your feelings out whenever you feel the need - i talk to my husband all the time about her and my parents and siblings too - i thank god for that - and we all give each other support.
Just wanted to send you lots of hugs

Re: It finally hit me
I lost my grandfather over a year ago, and even now I go to pick up the phone to tell him something or ask his advice (which he was never short on). It impacts my whole attitude when I realize that I cannot just call. I went off on DH for not washing the dishes one day b/c I was upset about it. We are lucky to have DHs that understand & can help us heal.

Re: It finally hit me
I know exactly how you feel. I lost my grandmother almost two years ago. Lately I've been listening to the Dixie Chicks and there is a line in the song "Taking the Long Way" that says something about "its been two long years since the top of the world came down" and that is exactly the way that I feel sometimes.
My grandmother died the morning after my engagement party, and I wear her wedding band (well, I will again after the baby is born) and as much as I love it, it is a constant reminder of how much I miss her and missed her at my wedding and wish could be here for the birth of my child in a couple of months.
You are lucky that your DH is so great about it, it does get easier, that feel does lessen. But I completely understand and if you want to talk feel free to FM me
