It is officially over Mets...
but they had many opportunities where they could have avoided the inevitable today.

Being there for the game was torturous today. Although, I did enjoy running into some of my favorite LIFers!

A friend of mine who was at the game said that fans were throwing hats and jersies on the floor and walking away. People were chanting to burn shea down. She said it was crazy...

Re: It is officially over Mets...
I was at Shea yesterday and when Beltran hit the typing HR in the 6th it was like euphoria. I have not heard it that loud in a long time. I go to grab something to eat come back and its 3-2. The bullpen strikes again.
As pretty much a lifelong Mets fan it was a hard pill to swallow. I didnt even want to stay for the ceremony after the game.
There are a lot of changes that need to be made. First change should have been firiing of Omar Minaya because he never really attempted to fix the bullpen. (still cant believe they gave him a 4 year extension)
I know there were injuries but every team has those and the better teams pull through with what they have.
Here is a list of players that I feel need to go..
1) Luis Castillo 2) Aaron Heilman 3) Marlon Anderson 4) Oliver Perez 5) Luis Ayala 6) Pedro Martinez
Please feel free to add your opinions..
Signed once again devastated Mets fan....

didn't hear any of that
a few random cracks
including my favorite
"maybe they should pitch the mr. met head. Then maybe the batters could hit it."
Anyone who left after the game and didn't stay for the ceremony, aren't real fans, IMO

I guess Omar learned S*it from this. 2 disasters in a row and the jerk resigns the billy goat. Then Heilman has to go. I will not and cannot watch another game if the tag team comes back. These two stressed me out all season long and i'm not going through it again. I'm not...

Uh, I was there and I didn't see any of that... I stayed for the Shea Goodbye ceremony, too... though admittedly left a few minutes before it ended.
Honestly, it was a disappointing game, yes - but I'm a fan in good times and in bad. Some of the absolute best memories of my childhood took place at Shea. It was something special I shared with my father. I can't believe we went to our last game at Shea yesterday - a little surreal. I guess we'll have to make new memories at Citi Field, but it'll never be the same.

I agree. I wasn't going to watch it on TV but then once it got started and was under way. I got into it and ironically it took my mind off of what happened. Seeing all the all time greats was really cool. I love Piazza! He's my boy! I miss him. Ron Darling looks good and I love watching him broadcast.

Yeah Pedro's time is up. He really didn't impress me. I felt that he spent most of his time on the DL than on the pitchers mound...
This team has a lot of garbage to throw out...

It's what I've been doing. Everytime they came on I'd shut the TV off. When you can't enjoy the game anymore, it's time to take a break.
