It is that time of year again - GOLDI'S GUIDE TO PROPER MENORAH LIGHTING!!!
I wouldn't be me if I didn't do this!!!
Chanukah starts tonight at sundown. Here are the instructions for lighting candles if anyone needs them:
Candles are placed in the menorah from right to left, with the number of candles corresponding to which night of Chanukah it is. There is also one additional candle, which is usually elevated, called the “shamash,” or service candle. The shamash is lit first, and then used to light the other candles, from left to right.
If your menorah is in a window, it is my belief that it is on display for people outside and should be lit opposite of the directions above. If your menorah is lit for display inside then the rules above apply and are lit as indicated below:
Day 1
Day 2
Day 3
Day 4
Day 5
Day 6
Day 7
Day 8
I have one that I light inside and one for the window that has bulbs. That one looks backwards from the inside.
And AS ALWAYS, I will post pictures of my menorahs EVERY DAY/NIGHT of Chanukah.

thanks! i always forget! last year i bought myself a small hanukkah book that shows a diagram to light them and the prayers. so now i'll never forget!

That explains why someone is the building across the street has their lights backwards
