It is true. I am leaving DH and the baby
in May for 5 days, 4 nights!!!! I just booked my spot at a bankruptcy lawyers' convention and I booked hotel and airfare. I'll get continuing education credits, learn a few things and get to meet a lot of the people that I speak to online through various organizations. This will be my first overnight away from the home since Dylan was born. We were considering making it a family trip but decided against it. I hope I can focus on the conference and not on missing them so much. Please tell me I am not a bad mommy for wanting to go to this. I am looking forward to it except when I think about leaving them home.

You are not a bad mommy and everything will be OK...
I actually have to leave this Sunday night and won't get home until late Friday... have to go to Kansas City for work and will be leaving DS and DH.... it is breaking my heart to know I have to leave them, but I know they will be OK!

My only question is...Can I come with you?
I need a vacation bad and even a bankruptcy lawyers' convention sounds good to me right now!

Well, the rumor is there are some good freebies like mugs and pens and stuff from the vendors that exhibit there.

 Oh I could use some more coffee mugs!!! The girls broke a whole bunch of mine making "Mosaics".

Definitely not a bad mommy. CLE is required and without it you don't have a license or a practice.

You're not a bad mommy at all. I think it's great you are doing something to better yourself and your career. In the long run, that will make you happy and a happy mommy makes for a happy family. You're an awesome mommy and you know it!

You're definitely not a bad mommy.
Also, your DH will either have a blast being alone with DS, and enjoy (almost) every minute of "male bonding" time, or he'll be so exhausted and frustrated that he will never EVER question you again if you say you need a break for a bit, or you're exhausted, etc.
