it never fails
every time i see my mil she brings up my having a baby. i am not pg and she does not know that we are ttc, but she has to metion her future grandchild. and when i say no , no ha ha ha....she does not get the hint...
hate it!!!

Ugh - I feel ya.
My mother always makes snide comments to me about having a baby (or lack thereof). She never does this in front of DH, just to me directly when he's not around. My Dad even said something to her about this one time right in front of me (about how she should lay off me) and she responded with "She's my daughter and I can talk to her like this" Makes me very upset.
Sorry you have to go through that with your MIL.

What really hurts is when my mom starts to tell me about random people 'she knows' that waited to have a baby to have 'everything' and now can't have a child and "have nothing". It gets me so scared, and I keep telling her obviously they don't have nothing - they have everything and just working on the baby now.
She says this to me because she knows I am getting my masters, and am about to start a new job and that I just can't try now. So, everytime we talk she tells how when I'm ready I won't be able to.
It makes me feel so sad, and scared, specifically because we are going to start next month. I just don't want to tell her yet!

thanks ladies.
its hard to explain, but it just feels like thats all i am to her. like since we are already married, i just need to pop out a kid. make sense? and my mom, would never say anything to me about it. if i talk to her, she'll listen, but she won't hound me about it.

Mine too. My MIL leaves me alone because she's got 1 with twins on the way but my mom talks about it everyday!

Ditto!! I know how unbearable it can be. I've even told her 'stories' about people who are having trouble and she STILL doesnt' get it. As she says "when I wanted to get pregnant, I just did." Well, whoop di friggin do lady - not everyone is so lucky!

i wnat to tell her to myob, but i don't wnat to start drama, and she is queen of starting drama.
and what if, God forbid, i cannot have a child of my own? am i useless to her?

I feel your pain. 3 days after my D&C my SIL and BIL start spouting their usual "wait until you have a kid, you'll see what it's like", and I just wanted to say "you know I just lost a baby, what the hell is wrong with you?"
That's why I can't stand in-laws!!!!

This was my MIL. Finally I told her "No, but we are practicing A LOT."
When that did not work I finally told her everytime you bring it up is another year I will make you wait.
That did it.

We haven't told anyone....we are keeping it that if it happens it happens this way there is no pressure...and that is kinda our attitude towards it too so we are not so stressed!! (but it's not working for me!!)
My sil always nags me about how she wants to be first to get pg meanwhile she isn't even trying!! I'm supposed to wait for her! Yeah right!!

exactly. i don't get that dh's aunts and cousins are asking. why would they care when i procreate? so frustrating that she has to mention it.
