It Showered This Weekend!
My baby shower was on Saturday at Per Un Angelo in Wantagh! The moms did an amazing job and all of my guests were extremely generous!!
We got so much stuff, we don't know how and where we are going to fit this! Right now everything is in the nursery and it's just a vast sea of gift bags, boxes and baskets!
One of my friends was the official "scribe" writing down on both a pad of paper and on the card, the names of the gifts - this is making it much easier in writing my thank you cards - since some people's gifts got mixed up in transit back to my house. Sticking the card to the gift doesn't work, so make sure you keep a good listing of the gifts you get!
The cake was amazing and was from Dortoni's Bakery in Levittown.
Some notes to mention. I was only registered at BRU:
1. Most people did not include gift receipts. I think some of the older people just don't get it.
2. I received several duplicates, some in duplicates of 3 or 4! Some I had gift receipts for, others I did not. BRU took everything back, even without a gift receipt as long as the item was on my registry. So, if you get something you don't want and it wasn't originally on your registry, add it to your registry, before returning it to BRU, that way you get store credit and they won't give you a hard time. I returned over $300 in duplicates and got a gift card back for shopping - so I can buy even more things!
3. It seems like the people who ordered gifts online, were the ones whose items remained on the registry, even though they swore to me that my name and registry number came up!
4. I received 2 diaper bags and as of today, that diaper bag is listed as active on my registry! So, the system is not exact!

You should have someone to help you opening gifts and handing things to you and taking things back and someone to write everything down! You don't realize how heavy a lot of these items are and how long it takes to go through them!

Re: point #2- that policy chnages in June! After June something, they won't take exchanges without gift receipts! Jerks.

You looked so beautiful, and your moms did an amazing job - everything was perfect! The food was PHENOMENAL, as was that cake! Dude, even the decaf coffee was above average. hehe Glad you & Dave made out like bandits, and everyone at my table thought the book idea was so great. I am 99% sure that was Courtney's suggestion.
