Italian Basket
I had posted on another board but decided to go a different way. I want to put together a box of dried goods a friend of mine as a gift who is going through a rough time. She loves to cook to relax. She is Italian and loves to make a good Sunday dinner. I was thinking of sending her an box of high quality pantry item (i.e. Dry goods). Maybe pastas, oils, vinegars, tomatos, pastes, salts etc. Any suggestions (including brand) would be incredibly appreciate.

I would just go to Iavarrone or Uncle Giuseppe's :) Some of the things I'd include are Orzata, DelVerde Pasta, any Pane Degliangeli baking products (vanillina or baking powder packets, extracts) Imported dried oregano branches, really good truffle oil, Modena balsamic vinegar, Amaretti cookies...
