It's almost planting time!!!

I'm so excited we did a ton of clean up yard work as the previous owners basically paid a landscaper to mow and keep the borders contained - barely.

Now I want to order some things to plant this fall. Nothing major as I forsee an eternal battle with squirrels coming.

Has anyone ordered bulbs/plants online and been very happy?

CLICK HERE to see what I am considering. I need to fill in around the perimiter of our back yard and it's mostly in the shade so I think this will work well.

OK, I'm sure these are dumb questions, but I've never planted before.

DO you plant them now and then they'll come up in the spring? How do you know how many to plant? And how they will look when they grow?

You plant bulbs in the fall and they will grow in the spring/summer. You can buy bulbs in Lowes, Home Depot, a nursery...and they have pics of the flowers on the outside of the bag. There are planting directions on the back too to make it easier.

Very pretty! It would be cheaper to buy from a nursery here. Hostas are on sale and most varieties do well in the shade. Also, Rose of Sharon do very well in the shade and bloom late summer.

WOW I love this garden! It is so hard to find nice shade stuff! Perrenials no less! I have alot of shade and an extra bonus it says the deer don't like it which is a problem for me.

I might just order it!
