It's me again...
Thank you all for your responses to my other post.
I am going to have the Psychologist observe her and then I am going to get an eval by a Psychologist that he recommends. My insurance will only cover Doctors who are "in network", otherwise, after we meet the deductible, we will be reimbursed 70%.
I have been to a Developmental Ped, a sleep specialist 2x, a nutritionist, a Psychiatrist and this new Psychologist.
She rec'd Speech and OT for Pre-K this year for her eating and pragmatic issues. There was little improvement. She went to school 2 1/2 hrs a day/5 days a week.
She was well behaved an cooperative there. At home and in public places, it is another story.
She was re-evaluted by the classroom teacher, speech and Ot. She had great reports for the classroom and for speech, but goals were not met as far as her eating. Basically, I was told that if there are no problems in the classroom that interfere with learning, then you will get no services.
The Psychologist that I saw yesterday said that based on the 2 hour long discusiion that we had, that Ava may be on the Autism Spectrum- highly functioning. He mentioned Aspergers Syndrome.
I have researched it today, and I definately see that she has some of the symptoms, but not all.
What does this mean, what do I do next??? This has been going on for over 3 years, and emotionally, I am at a loss. This has affected my DD, my self, my marraige and our family.
It breaks my heart on a daily basis and I fear that she will never have an easy, happy, normal life.
ALL I WANT IS AN ANSWER!!!! Please, someone tell me what is wrong, so I can fix it!!!I will do whatever it is that I need to do.. Just give me a name, a disagnosis, a label... I will deal with it, I will pick myself up, I will join a support group and finally help my daughter and our entire family....
Sorry, I had to vent.
